Nashville Skyline is perhaps not considered the best album of Dylan, but it's the one I listen regularly ... There is in this record is something unique that takes a subtle mix of country / folk always melodic and air.

Recently I discovered another "Nashville Skyline"! "John The Wolfking Of THE " by John Phillips . In 1970, after the separation of his group The Mamas & The Papas , he recorded his first solo album surrounded sizes, as James Burton, guitarist of Elvis Presley sessions.

Shortly before recording, John bike ride with his buddy Elvis in Palm Springs and made him listen to demos of the songs on the album. Elvis falls in love with him and even offers to record his version of the song "Mississippi " which emerged as the single disc of the future. But it was not counting on Colonel Parker, manager of the King, who refused to block this collaboration does not involve frankly hippies in his heart!

This album (which cover photo!), Mix of country, rock and soul, masterfully produced is Simply beautiful. And at times the voice intonations of John Phillips are almost like Lou Reed!

The man who has contributed to the soundtrack of the iconic 60's: The Mamas & The Papas , "San Francisco ," the title song from "Summer Of Love" which he is the author but also organizer Monterey Pop Festival, takes the brunt of the end of dreams and illusions. A world is collapsing, her album did not work commercially and it will then dutifully take refuge in drugs. The Stones Jagger & Richards will try to help him make a second solo album in 73 but its dependence is such that he is unable ... The result is unfortunately sad and uninteresting ...
